Design
An outdoor entertainment complex on the Schuylkill in Pottstown: a 2,200-seat venue with hospitality, lawn and festival ground on about eleven acres.
The problem
The site sits between river, road and a nature edge. It had to take concert loads, parking and family events without flattening the landscape that makes the place worth visiting.
What we did
The bowl and stage hold the night programme. Day plans keep lawn, fire pits and dining as the public ground. Upper and lower site drawings separate service, parking and pedestrian routes so a festival and a concert do not share the same curb cut.
Outcome
A design package that can be read at hearing and at night: seating count, ground plane and how the venue sits on the river edge.
